Knollis Mokake

Ndumbe Knollis Mokake is an environmentalist from Buea, Cameroon, with an academic background in environmental geography. He grew up in the Bonavada community at the foot of Mount Cameroon, where he witnessed how the climate crisis and land degradation impacted smallholder farmers, families and internally displaced people. These experiences shaped his commitment to land restoration and climate action at both community and broader levels. Ndumbe is the team lead of the CASAD Initiative, through which he has led community-driven efforts to combat deforestation and address the climate crisis. He has establishment of three community tree nurseries and helped plant over 15,000 trees.

Driven by a strong vision for environmental justice, Ndumbe seeks to actively engage in research and policy processes to help build a future where human well-being and healthy ecosystems thrive together.
