Ecological restoration experiences in Brazil: Young scientists inspiring the world
Ricardo Gomes César is a forester with a PhD in Ecosystem Conservation and a forest and landscape restoration specialist. He has worked as a consultant developing partnerships and prospecting, developing evaluating, and researching forest and landscape restoration for NGOs such as The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Ecological Research Institute (IPE), WeForest, and Reforest’Action.
During our visit to the IV Brazilian Conference of Ecological Restoration, we had the opportunity to interview Ricardo, who shared his experience and his motivation to work for the restoration of ecosystems. Ricardo participates in many research projects and mentors young students who are passionate about Brazil’s incredible forests. He also is involved in projects with international organizations, where he manages various aspects of forest restoration.
