Know about the Restoration Stewards Mountain Ecosystem Project
Crán̈jsúj Díˇ Bosque Para Nacer Agua is a project developed by Diwo Ambiental together with the Bruncajc indigenous people from the Boruca community. The project is based on the ancestral culture of the Bruncajc indigenous people and aims at the restoration of mountains ecosystems within the indigenous reserve as well as at increasing the adaptation of those ecosystems to climate change. Our objective here is to rehabilitate deforested and degraded areas in the mountains of the Boruca river basin, alongside community water sources, thereby increasing ecosystem services in their benefit. Simultaneously, we aim at recovering their food sovereignty through food production for self-supply by planning agroforestry systems designed to generate abundant and diverse forest gardens, which in turn reinforce the conservation areas.
