The heart of our project are two species of birds that are in danger of extinction and that are only found in the Andean region of Colombia, between 1,200 and 2,500 meters above sea level. In addition to these achievements, it is important to note that the birds in our project are umbrella species, which means that the conservation and restoration actions that we have implemented are benefiting a greater set of species, as well as improving ecosystem services in the Andean region. For example, we are protecting 5 water sources and expanding the natural forest strips in the region. Also, with the improvement of agroforestry practices, farmers improve their productivity while helping to care for the environment.
